$516,000 in grants awarded
Through the Governor Cuomo's NYS economic development initiative announced today, and with the support of the Southern Tier Regional Council and our representatives in Albany, CT&I has secured $516,000 in matching grant funds for design and development of TechWorks! and its Garden of Ideas, including a geothermal system for sustainable museum quality environment.
Details of the two grants are found on Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo's website -
The community is indebted to you, the CT&I Board, for helping craft a vision for TechWorks! as place to leverage our innovative legacy for continuing the enterprising spirit in the Southern Tier. The donation by Ed and Karen Levene of the property at 321 Water Street got the ball rolling towards realizing the Board's vision. Many thanks also go to our talented museum design team of Ward Bucher, AIA, Bucher Borges Group; Gerry Eisterhold and Ben Lawless, Eisterhold & Associates, for maintaining their dedication and good humor during the lean times, and the donors and foundations who have set the stage.
We are thrilled with the support from the Regional Council, our elected representatives, local government officials, and all the Friends of TechWorks!.
